Man Stabs Victim During 'Large Disturbance' In Hudson Valley, Police Say

An Orange County man was arrested for stabbing another man during a large disturbance.

The stabbing victim was found around 5:45 a.m. Sunday when Port Jervis police responded to a residence located on Reservoir Avenue for a report of a large disturbance, said Chief William Worden.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a 26-year-old male who was suffering from multiple stab wounds from a knife. Police provided immediate medical assistance and the victim was transported via Port Jervis Ambulance to Bon Secours Community Hospital for emergency medical treatment, the chief said.

Following an investigation, officers arrested Ricky Land, 36, of Port Jervis, and charged him with two counts of felony assault, criminal possession of a weapon, obstruction of governmental administration and harassment.

He was arraigned in Port Jervis City Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail pending further court appearances.

The case is being prosecuted by the Office of Orange County District Attorney.
